Choirmaster

The role of choirmaster plays a great part in Andreï Chevtchouk’s life. He was previously choirmaster of the Grenoble University Ladies’ Choir and the Grenoble Universities’ Mixed Choir and is currently choirmaster of Amiens’ Crescendo Choir.

Andreï Chevtchouk became intimate with the vocal repertoire through his work with the Choir of St Petersburg’s Chapel, Crescendo Choir in Brussels, Camerata Nova in Poland, and Orleans Conservatoire’s Symphonic Choir.

As Choirmaster Andreï Chevtchouk always communicates the enthusiasm, coming from his own warm personality, easily. He really is a conductor in every sense of the word, ‘conducting’ his musicians to a deeper understanding of the works they perform, and the audiences they perform in front of.

To date his repertoire as choirmaster notably includes : the religious orthodox songs by Tschaikowsky, Rachmaninov, Moussorgsky and Stravinsky, Monteverdi’s Vespers for the Virgin Mary, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Purcell’s Queen Mary’s funerals, both J.S. Bach’s works and those by Poulenc, Borodin’s Polovsian Dances, Brahms’ Song of Destiny, Mozart’s, Beethoven’s, Schubert’s and Rossini’s Masses in addition to the Mozart Requiem, Bruckner’s Requiem, the Fauré Requiem …
